About David Wilson
I’m a classic people person. I couldn’t live without people – my wife, my kids, my grandkids, my friends, my clients, and my audiences. They are all so important to me. So whether I’m entertaining, speaking somewhere or helping someone heal themselves, it’s all about people for me.
I came to hypnotherapy through show business.
When I was eight, a magic show sparked my interest in entertaining and mystifying people. At the ripe old age of 10, I performed my own magic act at a birthday party.
As a teen, I became fascinated with hypnosis. I saw a stage hypnotist and witnessed the way that people changed. It was amazing.
Later I became the cast magician on the San Francisco Bay Area version of the children’s show, Romper Room, broadcast on Channel 2 in the late 70s to early 80s. After that, I was a regular on the Cartoon Classics show on Channel 20 KOFY TV during the late 80s to early 90’s.
I was trained in stage hypnosis by the then famous Ormand McGill and soon I began performing stage hypnosis myself.
Ormand’s first love was the therapeutic side of hypnosis and he made a point of mentioning it during every performance. It is what I prefer to do, as well.
I have been doing hypnotherapy since 2001 and have taught others how to do it for several years at the Palo Alto School of Hypnotherapy in Palo Alto, California, where I am an instructor and have my private practice.
I have a tremendous amount of enthusiasm for the subject. I read as much as I can get my hands on. Having spent most of my life in front of an audience, I am comfortable teaching a class. I believe that one of the most important benefits of hypnotherapy is that it empowers people and helps them achieve their goals without side effects.
