DAVID WILSON BIO

David Wilson came to hypnotherapy through show business. When he was eight, a magic show sparked his interest in entertaining and mystifying people. At the ripe old age of 10, he performed his own magic act at a birthday party.

As a teen, he became fascinated with hypnosis.

“I saw a stage hypnotist and witnessed the way that people changed. It was amazing,” Wilson said.

He later became the cast magician on the San Francisco Bay Area version of the children’s show, Romper Room, broadcast on Channel 2 in the late 70s to early 80s.

After that, he was a regular on the Cartoon Classics show on Channel 20 KOFY TV during the late 80s to early 90s.

Wilson was trained in stage hypnosis by the then famous Ormand McGill and soon began performing stage hypnosis himself.

“Ormand’s first love was the therapeutic side of hypnosis and he made a point of mentioning it during ever performance,” Wilson said. “It is what I prefer to do, as well.”

He has been doing hypnotherapy since 2001 and has taught others how to do it for several years at the Palo Alto School of Hypnotherapy, in Palo Alto, California, where he is on staff. It is also where his private practice is located.

“I have a tremendous amount of enthusiasm for the subject. I read as much as I can get my hands on. Having spent most of my life in front of an audience, I am comfortable teaching a class. I pay a lot of attention to detail and students tell me I am a good teacher,” Wilson said.

Wilson recently created a guided mediation CD that uses a cutting edge technique he developed, called, The Secret Words for Success and Fulfillment. “It delivers positive messages to your subconscious mind in a unique way. Your subconscious mind will use these words in whatever way is most beneficial for you at the time, which can help you to become more positive and optimistic, and help you to create your dream,” Wilson said.

He still keeps his hand in performing, doing hypnosis shows at colleges and high schools.

“They love the shows,” Wilson said. “Everybody wants to come on stage.”

He believes that one of the most important benefits of hypnotherapy is that it can help people without side effects.

“It empowers people,” Wilson said. “Ultimately, it is a tool to help yourself.” CONTACT: David Wilson 650-743-8479 david@attainperfecthealth.com

CAUGHT UP IN THE HEALTHCARE DEBATE? WHY NOT JUST STAY HEALTHY INSTEAD

Palo Alto, CA – September 10, 2009 — As the debate over proposed health care changes rages, a California hypnotherapst has created a solution that may work better for everyone, for a lot less money — become healthy and stay healthy with the power of the mind.

David Wilson has created a guided meditation CD titled Attain Perfect Health.

“The power of the mind for healing is well documented,” Wilson said. “Many people believe it is possible to create changes in the body, but don’t know how to apply the techniques themselves. This CD guides them through the process.”

Wilson knows firsthand how powerful the techniques he teaches are. When his wife was diagnosed with cancer, he used these techniques to help her shrink the tumor to 1/4th its original size. “The doctors were amazed,” Wilson said. “If I’d had more time to work with her before the scheduled operation, we might have been able to eliminate it completely.”

The healing techniques on Attain Perfect Health can be used to address just about any health issue. “This doesn’t mean that you should ignore something that could quickly become life-threatening. It’s important to use traditional Western medicine when necessary. But you can use these techniques to heal chronic conditions and as an additional modality for acute conditions.”

The methods that Wilson guides listeners through are also highly valuable for achieving and maintaining optimum health.

“It’s always better to prevent disease in the first place,” Wilson said. “Besides, we all want and deserve to live a healthy, vibrant life.”

He offers two different meditations on the CD. “The first uses a spiritual approach to healing,” Wilson said. “The second uses the power of the mind. This one is for people who are agnostic, or who just prefer a different approach. Both work. The meditations guide you into a relaxed state that is more conducive to using the mind-body connection.”

Wilson emphasizes that there is nothing occult or mystical about hypnosis. “It is completely safe. It is a natural state that we all enter several times a day,” he said. “Whenever you daydream, watch TV or focus on something with your complete attention, you are in a hypnotic state. Formal hypnosis shows you how to put that state to good use, which in this case, is healing.”

David Wilson is certified by the state of California and faculty member of the Palo Alto School of Hypnotherapy, in Palo Alto, CA. He is a member of the American Association of Professional Hypnotherapists.

HYPNOTHERAPIST HELPS PEOPLE USE THE MIND/BODY CONNECTON TO HEAL FASTER, FIGHT DISEASE

Palo Alto, CA — The American Medical Association has recognized the value of medical hypnotherapy for about half a century.

Palo Alto hypnotherapist and teacher of hypnotherapy David Wilson is helping people to heal themselves with the power of the mind.

For him, the techniques are more than an interesting theory or a career path. He used them to help his wife beat breast cancer.

When she was diagnosed with the life-threatening disease, doctors wanted to operate soon. Wilson wanted to use hypnotherapy to reduce, if not eliminate the tumor.

“We only had a 30-day window. The doctors didn’t want to wait any longer,” Wilson said.“ So he helped his wife enter a hypnotic state in which she visualized the tumor shrinking on a daily basis.

When the doctors did the single mastectomy, the were amazed to see that the tumor had shrunk to half its original size in only 30 days.

“Imagine what could have happened if I had had more time to work with my wife,” Wilson said.

Not only was the tumor smaller, hypnotherapy made the procedure less stressful and it speeded the recovery process.

“There was less bleeding during the surgery and she got off the morphine in an hour. She only took one pain pill after the surgery and that was it. She left the hospital two days early,” Wilson said.

Medical hypnotherapy can be used to address a variety of medical issues. It can help people to completely stop or greatly reduce acute or chronic pain. Wilson helped his daughter deliver her 4th child without pain or drugs. Hypnotherapy can also be used to help people block pain during dental procedures.

For those facing surgery, the process can reduce stress and the fear of surgery. “A lot of people are terrified of surgery. Hypnotherapy can help people relax and allow the body to cooperate with the doctors. It accelerates healing, boosts the immune system and reduces blood flow during surgery.” Wilson said.

Hypnotherapy can also be used to deal with conditions that can lead to poor health. For example, it has a high success rate when helping people to lose weight and stop smoking. Because most disease is related to stress, hypnotic techniques can enable people to get and/or stay healthier by teaching them how to reduce their own stress.

“The beauty of hypnotherapy is that it aligns the mind and body for the same goal. When you’re going into surgery the natural thing is for the body to fight the situation. It’s very unnatural. It can help your mind and body work with the doctors,” Wilson said. “The surgery is more effective, the healing is faster and there are no negative side effects.”
